An American actor, born in Syria on April 15, 1922. He immigrated with his family to the USA at the age of two. He made his film debut in Action in Arabia (1944), after which he worked on many films, specializing in the roles of villains, and appeared in most of the films that were filmed about the Middle East, such as Outpost in Morocco (1949), and The Desert Hawk (1950), as well as films shot in Egypt, such as Serpent of the Nile (1953), and Princess of the Nile (1954). Ansara participated in television productions in the early fifties, such as the 1956 series Broken Arrow, in addition to his cinematic and theatrical work, as well as working as a voice actor in animated series. Michael Ansara was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. His most notable work includes I Dream of Jeannie (1966-1970), Guns of the Magnificent Seven (1969), The Message (1976), and The Manitou (1978). He died in Calabasas, California, USA on July 31, 2013, from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
