An Icelandic actor and writer, born in Reykjavik, Iceland. At age 5, he moved with his family to Austin, Texas, USA, where he joined Austin High School, then the University of Texas, and majored in English and mathematics. His graduate studies were in Scandinavian studies and English, and he worked as a computer operator. Among his credits are The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), Campfire Tales (1991) and The Deepening (2006). He died of pancreatic cancer on November 7, 2015.
