He is considered a prominent figure in the world of independent cinema, having produced numerous films for distribution companies such as Cinema Libre and Morena Films. His most notable productions include Everybody Knows and Che, co-starring Benicio del Toro and directed by Steven Soderbergh. He won the Goya Award for Best Documentary Feature for Hijos de las Nubes, a story of decolonization in Western Africa, co-starring Javier Bardem. In 2020, he won the Green Film Award at the Cinema for Peace Festival for his documentary Sanctuary.
