An American writer, born in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in speech and dramatic arts. She began working on the series Sesame Street two years after its inception as an assistant in the music department. She collaborated with writer Tony Geiss on the first film of the series, Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird (1985), in addition to An American Tail (1986) and The Land Before Time (1988).
