A British writer, born in York, England. She got her master's degree in English literature from the University of Dundee in Britain in 1974. After that, she got her Ph.D. in American literature. In 2002, she published a collection of short stories, including Not the End of the World. Two years before that, she released a play called Abandonment. The British author also got the Costa Literary Award for A God in Ruins, a book that is a companion to the novel Life After Life. |
