An American actress and singer, born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, and raised in Harlem, New York. She began studying acting at New York City's High School of Music and Art, and then studied at Long Island University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in education. She began her career teaching history at Brooklyn Technical High School, but left teaching after two years to pursue acting. Among her credits are One to Grow On (1983) and The First Family (2012). |
