An Indian singer, composer, politician, and musician, born in West Bengal. He has been interested in music since his childhood. At the age of three, he started playing the drums and later learned other musical instruments, such as the piano, guitar, and saxophone. He gained immense popularity for his work composing the music for the Bollywood film Zakhmee (1975). He has also composed music for several other Bollywood films, such as Hoshiyar (1985), Love Love Love (1989), and First Rank (1990). He has also sung in films such as Enemy (2013), Geraftaar (1985), and Sheesha (1986). He has also worked as a dubbing artist. In 2016, he played the character of Tamatoa in the Hindi version of the animated film Moana.
