On June 10, 2016, she was shot in Florida while signing autographs for fans, and she was immediately taken to the hospital. Her death was announced on the news the next day. The killer shot her with two pistols, firing five bullets at her, then he shot himself. She worked on the movie The Matchbreaker (2016).
