An American actor, born on August 9, 1901 in Massachusetts. He began his career in 1923 on stage as a child. He started working in Britain in 1921. He began his career in Hollywood in small roles. He did additional work for films such as The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Ten Commandments. He continued to act over the next few years in relatively minor roles. He made more than ten films throughout the late 1920s and into the 1930s. Farrell was elected to the city council in 1946 and served as mayor from 1947 to 1955. Farrell died on May 6, 1990, at the age of 89 of heart failure in Palm Springs, California.
