A Spanish novelist, born in Valencia, Spain. He achieved international fame thanks to his novels dealing with World War I. "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" (1916) is the most famous of his novels and has been adapted into a number of films. He was a major supporter of the Allies in World War I. He died in Menton, France. His credits include Blood and Sand (1941) and Torrent (1926). |
