A German actress, born in the town of Osterode am Harz in Germany, to a father who worked as a high school teacher. She graduated in 1964, then continued her education in the town of Brandenburg, West of Berlin, where she obtained a diploma in theater. She was a jury member at the 41st Berlin International Film Festival in 1991.
