She studied various artistic disciplines, such as dance and film at the Berlin University of the Arts. She directed five short films; Including...Read more Hologram, which won the Euro-Med Award in 2004. Her film Verse received special mention at the 2010 Dubai International Film Festival. She also won the award for Best Director and Best Cinematography at the 11th Cairo Independent Film Festival. Her film, Egyptian Jeanne D'Arc, was nominated for the Arab-German Film Award presented by the Robert Bosch Stiftung Foundation in Germany in 2013.
