An American singer-songwriter, musician, and guitarist, born in Oklahoma, USA. Her mother was a social worker and administrator of a non-profit organization. She is of Irish descent and graduated from Highlands High School, where she participated in college theater and the school band. After studying at Berklee College of Music for three years, she began her artistic music career, then released her first album in 2007, Marry Me, then the album Actor in 2009, and released a collaborative album with David Byrne in 2012, entitled Love This Giant. She also directed the film Come Swim in 2017.
