British writer and novelist, born in Hampton Wick, United Kingdom. He went to Kingston Grammar School. In 1917, he suffered serious injuries while serving as an officer in the 9th Battalion of the Eastern Regiment during World War I. He studied at Oxford University. His writing credits include Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939), The Invisible Man (1933), The Dam Busters (1955) and The Night My Number Came Up (1955). He died on November 13, 1975, in Kingston, United Kingdom. |
