An Italian composer, songwriter, and music producer. He was born in Urtigi, Italy. He is best known as the "Father of Disco" because he was a pioneer of Italian disco music, which has a danceable rhythm. His works also influenced many types of music, such as the new wave of techno music and house music, especially in Munich in the seventies, when he registered his own label under the name Oasis Records, and after several years, it became part of the record company Casablanca. In addition to producing Donna Summer's singles like "Love to Love You Baby" and "I Feel Love," he established Musicland Studios in Munich, a recording studio that numerous artists, including the Electric Light Orchestra, utilize. He collaborated with Queen and singer Elton John. Moroder also composed the soundtrack to the film Midnight Express (1978), which won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, and produced a number of songs for Three Degrees and two Sparks albums. Singer Bonnie Taylor included his song "Here She Comes" on the album "Bitterblue" in 1985, and in 1990, he penned "Un'estate italiana," the official song for the 1990 World Cup.
