A British actress and dancer of South African descent. She studied ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance in London, but her tall stature prevented her from entering the world of professional ballet. She then worked as a dancer in nightclubs, and was discovered by choreographer Hermes Pan, who gave her the opportunity to appear in the film Can-Can (1960). Among her work is G.I. Blues (1960), and her name was associated with the names of musical actors such as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. She also worked on television, and continued to present her theatrical performances. She died on September 14, 1996.
