A Lebanese director and writer, who lives between Beirut and New York. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in architecture from ALBA University and an MFA program in film directing from Columbia University. She also studied directing and screenwriting at Columbia University in New York and NHSI. In 2015, she co-founded Pictures Wave Breaking in collaboration with 7 directors of different nationalities. Mona’s work includes award-winning short films, such as Cries Never Lydia, which won the James Bridges Award for Best Director, and Submarine, which won a James Bridges Production Grant. Her other credits include the films EVA and Christine and the series Dresses.
