A British actor, born in London, England, United Kingdom. He received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. He married five times, among whom was actress Edna Best (1928-1940) and actress Boots Mallory (1947-1958). He had two children. His most important works include Murder (1930), The Letter (1940), and The Little Foxes (1941). Herbert Marshall studied to become a chartered accountant but directed his interest to theatre. However, he lost one of his feet in World War I and replaced it with a wooden one, but this did not hinder him from his work. He spent 20 years working in London before heading to artistic work. He started by working in a silent film, then quickly presented many films, most notably the film The Message, which he presented in its first version in 1929, playing the role of the lover. He played romantic and light comedy roles, but in the forties, his roles varied between roles of betrayal, excitement, and adventure, and he took advantage of his voice to perform science fiction films. He died on January 22, 1966, in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, United States of America, as a result of a heart attack.
