A Bahraini poet, born in Manama in 1936. He completed his studies in Bahrain, then headed to Cairo to study law. He then returned to Bahrain to begin his career as a teacher, after which he worked in the Ministry of State for Legal Affairs, and then moved to work in the Ministry of Information.
He was known to the Gulf audience through his folk poems of a social nature, such as “Girls,” “Marriage,” and other poems that gained wide fame. His departure comes to write the end of a long and successful literary and poetic journey during which he produced a number of poetry collections, such as “Songs of the Four Seas” and “She Has the Laughter of Roses,” and during which he held a large number of poetry evenings. He died on 10 March 2015.
