An English author who was born on January 18, 1882 in Hampstead, United Kingdom. He is best known for writing about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh and his various poems. Alan was primarily known as a playwright, but the success of Winnie-the-Pooh has overshadowed his previous work. Milne served in both World Wars, joined the British Army in World War I, and was captain of the British Home Guard in World War II. He died on January 31, 1956. |
