A British director, born in London. He directed dozens of cinematic works, most notably 3 films of the James Bond series: You Only Live Twice (1967), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), and Moonraker (1979). During his directing career, he garnered numerous awards, received an Academy Award nomination for Alfie (1966), and received the Michael Balcon Award from the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) in 1990. On February 23, 2018, he passed away in Monaco at the age of 97. |
