Add/Update Information: Terry Southern - Writer

An American screenwriter, novelist, and journalist, born in Texas. He studied medicine at North Texas Agricultural College, before moving to Southern Methodist University. He then continued to develop his interest in literature, and served in the United States Army. He was stationed in Reading, England, with his Army platoon, and received a Bronze Star in 1946. He then resumed his studies at the University of Chicago before moving to Northwestern University to obtain his undergraduate degree in philosophy in 1948. He also studied at the Sorbonne University. Among his novels are "Candy" and "The Magic Christian", both of which were adapted into films. Among his credits are Easy Rider, The Cincinnati Kid, and Barbarella. He died on October 29, 1995.
