An American actor and comedian, born in San Francisco, California, USA, on February 4, 1889, as Walter Leland Catlett. He married three times and had one child. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. Walter Catlett's most important works include A Tale of Two Cities (1935), The Front Page (1931), Bringing Up Baby (1938), and Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936).
Walter began his artistic career in vaudeville in 1906 and broke into the world of films in the mid-twenties. He participated in 3 silent films, then he started acting in lots of talkies. Walter Catlett made his Broadway debut in 1911 and performed in operettas and musicals. He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, on November 14, 1960, of a stroke.
