Shaimaa Saied |
An American writer and novelist, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the United States. She specialized in writing children’s books, but she began her career with knitting and teaching. She then worked as a nurse during the American Civil War. She later began writing letters under the title Hospital Sketches. Among her literary works are Flower Fables (1854), Moods (1864), Little Women (1868), and An Old Fashioned Girl (1870). She died on March 6, 1888, two days after the death of her father, writer Amos Bronson Alcott.
