An American actor, director, and producer born in New York City, on September 19, 1931. Ray Danton made his film debut in Chief Crazy Horse (1955). He also directed many famous television series in the seventies and eighties, and his last directorial work on television was the series Vietnam War Story (1987). Ray Danton won a Golden Globe in 1956 for I'll Cry Tomorrow (1955). His notable films include The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond (1960), and The Longest Day (1962). He died in Los Angeles, California, on February 11, 1992, of kidney disease.
