He studied theology, religious studies, and art history at King's College, Cambridge, graduating with first-class honors in 1998. While at Cambridge, he was president of the Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club and produced the comedy ​For Footlights. He studied production at the National Film and Television School and completed the industrial training course. His works include Chimerica (2019), Summerland (2020), and The Enfield Haunting (2015).
