An American actor, born on February 18, 1890, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Menjou was raised Catholic. He attended Culver Military Academy and graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Engineering. After his training in Pennsylvania, he served as a captain in the United States Army Ambulance Service during WWI. Adolphe made his official movie debut in The Blue Envelope Mystery (1916). He was nominated for an Academy Award for The Front Page (1931). He participated in Paths of Glory (1957), Pollyanna (1960), and To Please a Lady (1950). He died on October 29, 1963, in Beverly Hills, California, USA, at the age of 73, of chronic hepatitis. |
