An American actress, born on June 13, 1910. She attended Washington University in St. Louis with a double major in English literature and political science, graduating in 1930. She began her film career in 1934. Her notable work includes Who Done It? (1942), It Happened to Jane (1959), The Music Man (1962), Sister Act (1992), Little Women (1994), and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996). She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role by an Actress in 1962. She died on October 22, 1995, in Los Angeles, California. |
