British writer, novelist, and screenwriter. He was born in Manchester. He was a member of the Royal Society of Literature. He is best known for writing the drama series Poldark (1975-1977), based on his novel, which was published in 1945. He is also known for Marnie (1964) and Carnival of Crime (1962). He died on July 10, 2003, in Baxted, United Kingdom, at the age of 95. |
