An American writer, novelist, and producer, born in New York City, USA. After high school, he joined the US Coast Guard when World War II broke out. While in the Coast Guard, he began writing to pass the time. During the 1950s, he moved to Hollywood and got a job in theater. He later worked on sets at MGM Studios. He won the Writers Guild of America Award for 1974 for Save the Tiger. One of Steve's novels, The Formula, was translated into several languages ​​and then turned into a film in 1980. Among his works is the film Primal Fear in 1996.
