An American actor, born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, on July 10, 1931. Nick Adams began his artistic career in the early fifties when he participated in the short film Fast and Foolish (1951) and in the following year, he participated in Somebody Loves Me (1952). During the fifties, he presented supporting roles, and in the late fifties, he began his participation in television work. He joined the US Coast Guard for 3 years, avoiding conscription during the Korean War. Nick Adams was nominated for an Academy Award in 1964 for the film Twilight of Honor (1963). Among his most notable works are Mister Roberts (1955), No Time for Sergeants (1958), and Teacher's Pet (1958). He died on February 7, 1968, in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, of an overdose of medication.
