Although Patsy Kelly did not become an A-list star, she continued to work during the thirties, and provided many supporting roles. In the forties, she decided to quit acting, and worked as a secretary for a long time, then returned to acting, and appeared in many television programs, as well as playing some small roles in cinema and theater. In the late seventies, she had a stroke and lost her speech, and was placed in a care home. Patsy Kelly got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. Among her most notable work: Nobody's Baby (1937), The Naked Kiss (1964), Rosemary's Baby (1968), and Freaky Friday (1976). She died on September 24, 1981 in Woodland, Los Angeles, California, of cancer.
