An American actress, born in Los Angeles, California, on November 11, 1936. She is the daughter of actress Lupita Tovar. She made her film debut in To Hell and Back (1955), and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Imitation of Life (1959). In 1964, she married fashion designer, and novelist John Weitz, and devoted herself to taking care of her family. Susan Kohner received a Golden Globe Award in 1959 and in 1960. Among her most notable work: The Last Wagon (1956), Imitation of Life (1959), The Gene Krupa Story (1959) and Freud (1962).
