A Mexican-American actor, born in San Diego, USA. He has appeared in more than a hundred films since 1948, and his brother is the actor Eduardo Silvestre. He started helping his father in selling perfumes in his store, then expressed his desire to work as a bullfighter, and a race car driver, but his aunt, the writer Maria Carrascosa, was the one who suggested that he try acting. His films include La sombra vengadora (1956), Las luchadoras contra la momia (1964), and La mujer murcielago (1968).
