A Danish filmmaker of Iraqi origin, who came to Denmark as a refugee in 1986. In 2010, he graduated from film school, where he directed the short film Too Heavy in 2009, which was screened at the Berlin Film Festival and many other festivals, and won the Danish Robert Award for Best Short Film. He has also directed several documentaries and music videos. His first feature film, Flow, produced in 2014, was screened at the London Film Festival, and Dark Land is his second feature film.
