Toqa Hesham |
An American film director, producer, and writer. He won two Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture for West Side Story (1961) and The Sound of Music (1965). He was also nominated for Best Actor for Citizen Kane (1941) and Best Picture for The Sand Pebbles (1966). His films also include The Body Snatcher, Born to Kill, The Set-Up, and The Day the Earth Stood Still. Wise was president of the Directors Guild of America from 1971 to 1975, after which he became president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. |
