A Chinese actress, born in Shanghai, China, on November 4, 1943. She is better known for her roles in Caprice (1967), The Green Berets (1968), and Comrades, Almost a Love Story (1996). Irene was born in Shanghai to a father who works in a bank and a mother who is a plastic artist. The family moved to Hong Kong, where Irene joined the Royal School and studied ballet, and at the age of 12, the family immigrated to the United States of America, where they settled in New York City, and Irene joined George Washington School and continued to study ballet, and also studied jazz at Carnegie Hall, She began her artistic life as a teenage dancer in the movie Flower Drum Song (1961). She acted in 32 films and 50 television series.
