Doris Dowling was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA on May 15, 1923. She is best known for her roles in The Blue Dahlia (1946), The Car (1977), The Lost Weekend (1945), and Bitter Rice (1949). Dowling was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in New York, where she graduated from Hunter College High School in Manhattan, and performed some musical performances as a choir girl on Broadway. She then headed to Hollywood to pursue her acting career. She died in Los Angeles, California, USA on June 18, 2004.
