An American actress, born in Claremore on November 8, 1927. She got married three times and adopted two children. Among her most important works: Die Hard (1990), The Right Stuff (1983), A Good Year (2006) and Sleep Tight (2011). She began her career as a singer, singing on the...Read more Tulsa radio station and was distinguished by her silky voice. She toured the United States in the late 1940s with the band Jimmy Joy. In 1950 she got the platinum record and in 1951 she recorded the highest rate of distribution of records. During the fifties she became the best-selling female singer of records, and recorded 10 million copies. In 1999, she won a Grammy Award for reaching her fiftieth year of singing. She died in Encinitas, on January 1, 2013.
