Argentinian-Irish singer, musician, and actor born on 13 September 1918 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to an English father and an Irish mother. He sang alongside many orchestras until he had his own radio program in 1944, "The Dick Haymes Show". He appeared in several series in the US including Get Christie Love and McCloud. His most notable songs include "The More I See You" and "How Blue the Night". He also appeared in films such as State Fair (1945) and The Shocking Miss Pilgrim (1947). He was married five times and had six children. He died of lung cancer on 28 March 1980 in Los Angeles, California, US.
