An American actor who was born on March 23, 1902 in Fort Payne, Alabama. He studied at Princeton University and worked as an advertiser for publications such as Colliers and Liberty. He worked on Broadway in the 1930s and 1940s. He debuted in the late 1960s, and is best known for I Love Lucy (1951), From Here to Eternity (1953), and North by Northwest (1959). He died on September 13, 1982 in Mexico City, of heart failure. |
