A British actor, born in Manchester, England. He rose to fame after graduating from RADA. His roles left a lasting impact on both classical and modern theater. One of his first roles on stage was Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. He played the role of John the Baptist in Salome (1953) and the role of Richard Wagner in Magic Fire (1956). Among his credits are Arabesque (1966) and The Day of the Jackal (1973). He got married to Yvonne Owen and they had one daughter, actress Sarah Badel. He died of a heart attack on 19 March, 1982 in England. |
