An American actress who was born in Valley City, North Dakota, on January 22, 1909. Ann Southern received a Golden Globe Award in 1958, an OFTA Award in 2014, and two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960 for her work in film and television. Ann Southern began her career in a small role in Broadway Nights (1927), and over the course of 6 years, she made several films in extracurricular roles, until she contracted with Columbia Pictures in 1934 and presented the movie The Party's Over (1934). She contracted with RKO Studio, then with MGM to present the movie Maisie (1939), which turned into a series of 10 films. She is best known for her roles in: The Best Man (1964), Private Secretary (1953-1957), and A Letter to Three Wives (1949). Ann Southern died on March 19, 2001, in Ketchum, Idaho, of heart failure.
