Egyptian poet born on 23 June 1940 in Upper Egypt. He lost his father at the age of 10 and became responsible for his mother and siblings. He had to leave college after his first year to work to be able to support himself and his family. However, he never stayed long in a job because his true passion was poetry. He wrote lots of political poetry and his poems were different and ahead of their time. He wrote the play The Person (1982) and the lyrics of film Shahira (1975). He died on 21 May 1983. |
