A British actor, born in Oxford to an English mother and a Russian-Jewish father. He was nominated for a Laurel Award in 1970 for his role in the movie Oliver! (1968). He began his career at the age of 6 by appearing in the movie The Counterfeit Constable (1964). He completed his university studies, specializing in orthopedics. He married his first wife in 1993 and lived with her and their four children in Cheltenham, where he and his wife worked in the field of orthopedics. Among his works: Crossed Swords (1977) and Our Mother's House (1967).
