An American writer, born in San Francisco, California, USA. She studied at Stanford University, spent a year as a Fulbright scholar at the University of Bristol, and studied at Harvard University for a time. Soon after, she began publishing short stories, she later worked as a journalist and a professor at Yale University before turning to screenwriting by coincidence. She wrote the film Road Road in 1973.
