An American writer, born in Brooklyn, New York. He went to the West Coast in 1920. He joined the editors of the Los Angeles Times, and his play And Then What was released, which ran between 1921 and 1940. He is best known for his collaboration with writer Jack Woodford. In 1928, he directed the film Four AM and co-wrote several other works.
