In 1972, she published her first autobiographical book, Miss Tallulah Bankhead, which chronicled the life of theater and film actress Tallulah Bankhead. Kilgallen, her second book, chronicled the career of journalist Dorothy Kilgallen and became a New York Times best-seller in 1980.
