An American writer, born in Brooklyn, in the United States. She studied at Midwood High School, then joined Brooklyn College in 1961. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in public speaking in the 1960s. Before becoming a forger, she was a freelance writer who published her articles on film, theater, and television and in prestigious newspapers such as The New York Times. In 1972, she published her first autobiographical book, Miss Tallulah Bankhead, which chronicled the life of theater and film actress Tallulah Bankhead. Kilgallen, her second book, chronicled the career of journalist Dorothy Kilgallen and became a New York Times best-seller in 1980.
