Gina Selim was born in Cairo. She is of Greek descent. She is originally a psychotherapist, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the American University in Cairo in 1995. She enrolled at King's College in London, where she studied at the National Addiction Centre, Institute of Psychiatry, to obtain a master's degree in public health sciences and addiction, after which she traveled to the USA to obtain a doctorate in management and occupational psychology at tاe University of Southern California from 2007 to 2012. She worked as a model in college. She also provides a service called Psych Cinema, which involves helping artists through group workshops. She participated in the series My Destiny, Your Destiny, and Thirty Days.
